07.21.07 Boys Soccer New Hampshire tied Vermont, 1-1, in the Lions Twin State Soccer Cup. NH took a 1-0 lead about four minutes into the second half when Jeff Hebert (Derry) buried a penalty kick past keeper Will Berry (U-32). Taylor Wilkins (SBHS) connected with 27 minutes, 30 seconds left to tie the game. Charlie Dunn (SBHS) was named VT's Player of the Game while Verite Makuni (BHS) took home the 12th Man Award. 06.23.07 Girls Lacrosse New Hampshire defeated Vermont 20-9 in the New England Senior All-Star Lacrosse Tournament at Hanover High School. Sherry Darnell of Bow scored four goals and dished off five assists, tallying all but one assist in the first 30 minutes. Hillary Grimes of Kearsarge tallied four goals, and Hanover's Bree Buckley contributed three for the Granite State. 06.21.07 Track & Field Chris Lemieux of Manchester Memorial won the 1,500 meters in the 51st annual State Decathlon at Nashua South. Lemieux, the first Memorial athlete to win the decathlon, finished with 5,978 points -- 524 ahead of runner-up Erik Gustafson of Timberlane. 06.10.07 Baseball Merrimack won 7-2 over Trinity to capture the Class L baseball championship. Merrimack took an early lead, scoring five runs in the first inning. Shortstop Tim Rines led the Tomahawks with three hits. Dan Cataldi walked eight and allowed four hits in the complete game win. 06.09.07 Softball Wilton-Lyndeborough defeated Groveton, 3-1, to win the Class S softball title. Groveton came within one out of winning the title in the seventh-inning, but a throwing error by the Eagles second baseman allowed the tying run to score. Gabby Trombley (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Jess Broderick (2-for-3, 1 run) led the Warriors offense. 06.07.07 Girls Lacrosse
Nashua South won 10-7 over Souhegan to capture the Division I championship. Allie Morgan scored six goals to lead the Panthers. Jana Drummond added three goals and Mandy Rogers tallied a goal and three assists. South goalie Liz Haftel stopped 14 shots.
