Zach Dessureau fired four touchdown passes in addition to a 21 yard scoring run. James Durham hauled in three of those scores with touchdown catches of 28, 6 and 5 yards. 11.09.07 Football Hartford 13, South Burlington 7: Hartford claimed the Division I football title. Eric Newton dove in from the 1 on fourth down in overtime to give the Hurricanes the win. Mick Wong also scored for Hartford, which ended its season at 9-1. 11.03.07 Boys Soccer Stowe 3, Peoples 2: Stowe claimed the DIII boys soccer title. Coleman Gay scored the winning goal 4 minutes into double overtime on a pass from Bryan Davis. Greg Lachtrupp and Davis also scored for the Raiders. 11.03.07 Girls Soccer Twin Valley 2, Oxbow 1: TV won its first DIII girls soccer championship. Devon Spirka scored the game-winner 3:12 into double overtime. Paige Ruiz scored the Wildcats first goal on an 18-yard shot. 11.01.07 Honors
Trevor Varney of Windsor football and Dani Lewis of Woodstock field hockey were voted the state's top male and female athletes for September by the Vermont Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
