04.29.06 BaseballColchester topped Missisquoi, 8-3. Jeremy Bigelow fired a nine-hitter and struck out six for the win. Lance Nichols led the Lakers with two doubles and two singles. Ryan Miller and Bryan Johnson added two hits each.
Essex edged Mount Mansfield, 11-10. Nick Chiarelli paced Essex with two hits and three runs scored. Sean Stowell had three RBIs and Billy Goodell added two hits for the Hornets.
BFA-Fairfax defeated Oxbow, 14-12. Jake Ainsworth helped Fairfax with a homer and two hits. Justin Irish drove in five runs and Kevin Wehner drove in four runs for the Bullets.
St. Johnsbury outscored North Country, 14-3. Ethan Paquette led SJA with three hits, including a two-run homer. Corey Gonyaw and Amos Kempton had three hits with a double apiece.
04.29.06 SoftballEssex shutout Mount Mansfield, 6-0. Amanda Downey earned the shutout for Essex, allowing no hits while striking out 11 and walking two. Offensively Downey finished 3-for-3 with an RBI while Becca Reynolds was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Middlebury blanked Milton, 13-0. Tosha Whittemore shut out Milton on two hits, striking out 12 and walking none. Amanda Payne and Alexis Cowherd slammed three hits each and Beth Lattrell drove in three runs for the Tigers.
St. Johnsbury topped North Country, 16-8. Melissa McDonald led SJA four hits. Courtney Kozlowski and Kathleen Sullivan added three hits each and Amanda Monteith contributed a single and a double for the Hilltoppers.
Rutland ran past Fair Haven, 13-2. Crystal Garrow was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, Megan Blongy had two hits and scored three runs and Shannon Courcelle had a double for the Raiders. Janna Polgar pitched a four-hitter to pick up the win for Rutland.
04.29.06 Boys LacrosseMount Mansfield beat Essex, 10-5. Nate White tallied two goals and two assists to lead MMU. Rob Churan added two goals while Sam Wheeler, Anthony Savaglio, Brendan Trapani, Andrew Schneider and Josh Anderson also scored. Jimmy Candon made eight saves for the Cougars.
Middlebury edged BFA-St. Albans, 9-8. Chris White led the Tigers with three goals and two assists. Levi Smith (assist) and Ben Rule added two goals each for the winners.
04.29.06 Girls LacrosseSouth Burlington defeated Spaulding, 18-6. Alicia Hawks recorded six goals to lead SBHS. Lexi Crook contributed three goals for the Rebels while Taylor Rand and Melinda Wisell each scored twice. Becca Shaw had 10 saves.
U-32 topped Randolph, 15-3. Rachel Clark led U-32 with six goals and two assists. Shelly Nogueira contributed four goals and an assist while Lauren Pettinato and Michelle Bolduc added two goals and an assist apiece.
Lamoille ran past St. Johnsbury, 19-6. Michelle Langmaid scored 10 goals to lead Lamoille. Kala Brgant added a hat trick and Kaylee Polander made five saves for the Lancers.
