09.30.05 Football

Derek Stubbs scored a late game touchdown as Burlington upset Rice 25-23. Seahorse running back Andrew Plumley led BHS with 98 yards on 21 carries. Rice RB Birney Boehland carried the ball 16 times for 62 yards in a losing effort.

Connor Gallagher and Greg Pinette combined for four first half touchdowns as Mt. Mansfield manhandled Winooski 52-22. Kalani Pornelos scored two touchdowns for Winooski.

Todd Murphy's three touchdowns sent U-32 past Montpelier 40-0. Murphy had 109 yards on 13 carries.

A 210-yard effort by senior running back Andy Babineau lifted Milton past Colchester 26-12. QB Nate Ward had two rushing TD's and he threw for 1. Kyle Bombardier had 96 yards for the Lakers.

09.30.05 Field Hockey

Rice tied Mt. Mansfield 2-2. Julia Smith scored twice for the Cougars, assisted by Shay Manning. Theresa Fukuda had a goal for the Knights.

Charlotte Wile netted the game winner as Burlington slipped past Milton 1-0. Kiah Powell-Francis had 12 saves for the winners.

Liza Casella had a goal and an assist as Rutland beat Mt. Anthony 3-1. Kayla Whitman scored for Mt. Anthony.

Jaci Rushton's two goals helped Springfield beat Bellows Falls 3-0.

Molly Gray's goal sent Harwood past Lyndon 1-0.

Nicole Ludwig's 15 save performance was not quite good enough, as North Country fell to St. Johnsbury 3-0. Elizabeth Coffin had a goal and an assist for the Hilltoppers.

09.30.05 Boys Soccer

South Burlington beat BFA-St. Albans 4-2. Taylor Wilkins, Alex Davidson and Mario Maric scored for the Rebels. Cody Barrette and Aaron Reed scored in the first-half for BFA.

Kyle Weed had three saves as Colchester blanked Harwood 2-0. Mike Pilon scored both goals for Colchester.

Hazen's Zach Lemay, Tyler Butterick and J. Smith scored as the Wildcats beat UCA 3-0.

Kory Holmes, Mike Rice, Tommy Gingras and Tommy Quinn scored for the Milton Yellowjackets in their 4-0 win over Middlebury.

Brendan Nelson had a goal and an assist, but his Springfield Cosmos tied Burr & Burton 2-2. Marc Leonard scored for the Bulldogs.

Mt. Abe 2, BFA-Fairfax 1. Ryan Loucy and Cam Urban scored to lift Abe past Fairfax 2-1.

Ryan Thygesen and Dan Mascoveta each scored as Spaulding blanked Northfield 2-0.

Joe McGovern's four goals lifted Stowe past Lyndon 7-3.

Brett Jasmin's goal lifted Lamoille past Missisquoi 1-0.

09.30.05 Girls Soccer

Julie Desautels six saves were not enough, as Winooski fell to Lake Region 1-0.

Molly Gray's game winner lifted Harwood past Lyndon Institute 1-0.
